This is a powerful collection of most of the stories by and about the ERPCVs. I could understand the full force of closing down the Peace Corps in a way that just the individual reports, as important as they are, did not.
In considering a very worthy donation to the Global Reentry, it occurred to me that there must be a perhaps considerable amount of unspent funds in the Peace Corps Partnership Program, since PCVs were yanked from there sites before the conclusion of their secondary projects. I’m sure there are many smart people in the PPP office trying to figure out how best to address the issue. It would be great if Peace Corps could “re-donate” some of these unused funds to the Global Reentry Program to assist ERPCVs with their sudden transition to “civilian” life at a time when it is most difficult to find gainful employment or apply to grad school. There are probably 500 reasons this is either illegal or impractical, but I throw it out there.
