Thank you to the Peace Corps FOIA Officer for this document. We will post each country’s Profile. In eight months from March 1, 1961 to Novemeber 1, 1961, Sargent Shriver created a management team.  He visited at least nine countries and  asked them what their needs were and persuaded them to accept Volunteers to meet those needs. He then recruited, trained, selected and placed Peace Corps Volunteers in countries.  And, not to forget, Shriver lobbied Congress and persuaded them to pass the Peace Corps Act.

  • Randy, I apologize for the delay. I am the person who received the documents from the FOIA office at Peace Corps. I had to change the formatting in order to post. I will post the Phillippine report, right now. I am a RPCV.
