Dennis was one of the first PCV and a ‘famous’ figure in the early years of the agency.
His remains are in the Congressional Cemetery in Washington DC, main alley towards the chapel and bench. It is in a side of the cemetery facing an area called “Little Arlington” (if you ever visit).
Good contact with Dennis in DC.
What a beautiful inscription and so fitting for Dennis. How do you top Eagle Scout, Best Volunteer and Mother Theresa?!!

Dennis lived an emblematic life of service to others. In my decades of work with the Friends of Colombia (FOC) when we wanted to launch new projects, the first person to raise his hand to volunteer was Dennis. Now, God speed you Dennis to your well-earned rewards.
Thanks for sharing, John (and to Ana for letting us all know about this). Beautiful, fitting words and all so true. I sure hope to get there when I can get back to DC at some point. Dennis did so much for Romania (among so many countries) and would be pleased to see how it’s evolved in the time since he left and passed away. RIP, my friend.
Dennis was an original. I was in Group II of Colombia volunteers and Dennis and I met there and subsequently with Mike Lanigan (also Colombia I) had the opportunity to be the first returned volunteers to direct a Peace Corps training program, Nepal V at Southern Illinois University. Dennis was also my best man at my wedding.
He is missed.

Dennis is also on the website of the Congressional Cemetery, part of the Virtual Self-Guided Tours, #15 on the Introductory Tour.
He loved God and appreciated the world. He shook the hand of one nurse before leaving us. I will never forget that moment.
