Books need not be about the Peace Corps, the author’s Peace Corps experience, or be set overseas in the country where served.

Books by the family and friends of PCVs are also welcome to submit proposals if the subject matter of the book is focused on the experience of a Volunteer or the Peace Corps.

For your book to be published under the Peace Corps Writers imprint
For your book to become part of this publishing venture, one chapter of your manuscript as a MSWord file, and a short description of the book must first be submitted  to the publisher of the PCW imprint, Marian Beil, at marian@haleybeil.com for acceptance.

Peace Corps Writers will not publish books that are rants against host country nationals, other Peace Corps Volunteers, or the Peace Corps agency. We are also not interested in publishing books that have not been professionally edited, are poorly written, or have not been designed for publication in book form.

Once a book has been accepted to be published under the Peace Corps Writers imprint, a fee of $150.00 will be charged that will cover the cost of a unique “Peace Corps Writers” ISBN number, the assignment of a unique Peace Corps Writers’ Library of Congress Control Number (LCCN), rights to use the Peace Corps Writers imprint logo in the production of the book, and inclusion in this  line of books that are promoted by our website, Peace Corps Worldwide. In addition, the payment from Imprint authors goes to help cover the cost of maintaining the Peace Corps Worldwide and  the the annual writers awards that we present.

Peace Corps Worldwide receives no other payment or royalty.

NOTE: The Peace Corps Writers Imprint is a totally volunteer run effort. Marian Haley Beil receives no  payment for her work on this project.

Publication costs for your book
Authors are fully responsible for having their books edited, designed and prepared for printing. The books are to be printed by Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), and/or produced as Kindle ebooks.

Authors should use great caution in selecting editors and designers. Designers should have professional experience in book design, and we require that your book be copy edited — preferably by several people with some literary experience — and that at least one of those people should not be a personal friend or relative.

Each of these aspects of production can ultimately have a great impact on the readability — and success — of your book.

Your income from your book
All royalties from sales of your book will are paid by KDP and go direct to the author. Peace Corps Writers will not share in your royalties. You will receive 40–80% of the retail sale of your book from KDP, depending on the distribution channels you choose through which sales are made.

If you are interested in participating in this special publishing venture, please email Marian at marian@haleybeil.com.
