Another Award Winning RPCV Writer: Chris Conlon (Botswana 1988-90)

He Is Legend, the anthology of short stories honoring author and screen writer Richard Matheson, edited by Christopher Conlon (Botswana 1988-90) has won the 2009 Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in Anthology. The book (which features stories by Stephen King, Joe Hill, Joe R. Lansdale, Whitley Strieber, F.Paul Wilson and many more) was available as a limited edition from Gauntlet Press and is now sold out — until the TOR hardcover trade edition comes out September 2010.

  • Bram Stoker , the Victorian novelist ,created ‘Dracula’ based on the myth of the Romanian ( Transylvania prince) Vlad the Impaler…get it..he tossed the invaders to his castle over the wall to their death on iron spikes. The neck biting and blood sucking was Stoker’s surpressed Victorian sexual drive!!

    I know as I lived in Romania recently and visited Bran ( Dracula’s ) castle a dozen times to hear this story.
