He Is Legend, the anthology of short stories honoring author and screen writer Richard Matheson, edited by Christopher Conlon (Botswana 1988-90) has won the 2009 Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in Anthology. Bram Stoker , the Victorian novelist ,created ‘Dracula’ based on the myth of the Romanian ( Transylvania prince) Vlad the Impaler…get it..he tossed the invaders to his castle over the wall to their death on iron spikes. The neck biting and blood sucking was Stoker’s surpressed Victorian sexual drive!!
I know as I lived in Romania recently and visited Bran ( Dracula’s ) castle a dozen times to hear this story.
