Rob Schmitz (China 1996-98) now China correspondent for APM’s Marketplace, embedded in a Shanghai neighborhood and spent time with ordinary residents who are dealing with the trials and triumphs of daily life in the city in pursuit of their dreams. In Street of Eternal Happiness: Big City Dreams Along a Shanghai Road, he writes about the deep relationships he formed and follows their stories to the end.
