Peace Corps Worldwide on Substack

Dear Worldwide Friends,

You may notice a new look in your inbox going forward. Your Peace Corps Worldwide newsletter is now being published on Substack. You’ll still be able to view and comment on blog posts on the Peace Corps Worldwide website for now, but the entire posts will be delivered to your email address.

Substack is a publishing platform that is a simple way to publish and share writing. Its social network and built-in recommendations system will help Peace Corps Worldwide grow our subscriber base. It also offers a way to monetize content through paid subscriptions. Readers can easily comment on, share, and recommend content.

Peace Corps Worldwide has established an advisory board that will lead the way forward. We’re grateful that some of our Peace Corps community’s most distinguished writers have agreed to serve in this capacity, including Greg Emerson, Steven Saum, Evelyn LaTorre, and Mark Walker. The advisory board will continue to expand.

In the near future, we plan to launch a reader survey that will help guide and inform our mission in the future. For now, our aim is to continue building on Peace Corps Worldwide’s 25-year history of advancing Peace Corps’ Third Goal, as PCVs, RPCVs, former staff, and host country nationals tell our stories of service.

There is no shortage of original content from Peace Corps writers, and I’m delighted to receive submissions almost every day (send to gblumhorst@gmail.com). We will give priority to publishing these pieces, with emphasis on announcing new books by Peace Corps writers, sharing book reviews, and promoting resources available to aspiring Peace Corps writers.

We will continue sharing general news articles of interest to the Peace Corps community, but in the interest of adhering to fair publishing practices, we will first seek permission of the authors and copyright owners and/or just share a brief synopsis and link to the original article. Thank you for understanding.

We hope you enjoy Peace Corps Worldwide newsletters and will share it with your cohorts, friends, and family.

In service,

Glenn
