What is Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Peace Corps connection?
What Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, a top contender for Biden Supreme Court pick, has revealed about her personal side.
She has recounted in a 2017 speech that her parents, wanting to show pride in their African ancestry, asked her aunt, who was then in the Peace Corps in Africa, for a list of African girl names. Taking one of her suggestions, Jackson’s parents named her Ketanji Onyika, which she said they were told translates to”lovely one.”
What a beautiful story!
Tell us more about her aunt, please,
it is not official and it may be wrong, but there are rumors that President Biden has chosen her for the Supreme Court.
What country in Africa?
Please answer: in which African country did her aunt serve?
I find it odd that the specific country is not mentioned. I served in Liberia for two years. Liberia is such an unusual country that it makes a difference.
So maddening that NPCA does not tell us what country in Africa. It’s an awfully big continent. And you should know better.
Apparently her book says “West Africa”, which is only a little better than “Africa”. I’m anxious to know, as my sister was in the PC in Dahomey, and while there, the name of the country was changed to Benin. Interesting times!
