Reed Hastings Reed Hastings is an American entrepreneur and the co-founder and CEO of Netflix, a global streaming entertainment service. Born on October 8, 1960, in Boston, Massachusetts, Hastings grew up in a family that valued education. He attended Buckingham Browne & Nichols School and later went on to study at Bowdoin College, where he earned a degree in mathematics. After graduating from college, Hastings joined the Peace Corps and spent two years teaching high school mathematics in Swaziland 1983-85. This experience had a profound impact on him and shaped his views on education and cultural exchange.
