This is the # 1 Peace Corps 50th event in D.C. in September. A huge raffle, great bands from around the world, dozens of entertainers, and RPCVs by the hundreds. You’ve got to come. Everyone else will be there!
For example, the raffle. There are more than 50 prizes being given away, with a Grand Prize of 2 round-trip tickets to anywhere Delta flies, plus a week’s hotel stay.
Here’s what you have to know about the Big Bash:
- It is on Saturday, September 24, 6:00 pm-12:00 am,
- It will be at the George Washington University Smith Arena. (A short walk from the Foggy Botton Subway Station.)
- It is being sponsored by the Peace Corps Fund, a non-profit organization founded by RPCVs in support of the 3rd Goal.
- It is a night of food, drinks, international music and dancing to celebrate the Peace Corps’ 50th anniversary.
- Peace Corps writers will be selling their books.
Are you going to other events that evening? No problem, come before, come after! It will be a long night. Tickets are just $33!
But you better buy your tickets now at: http://www.PeaceCorpsFund.org. This event will sell out.

Rather than sell books, I will offer a raffle donation: an autographed copy of the first novel written by a former Peace Corps volunteer, me. I’m sure the winner will be much far happier to get LAMENT FOR A SILVER-EYED WOMAN than a Delta-destination free week.
How do I buy raffle tickets?
