NorCal — the RPCV group of Northern California — has announced that it will collaborate with area universities and the local Peace Corps Office to celebrate the Peace Corps 50th Anniversary on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the International House on the UC/Berkeley Campus.

The day will feature two main events: an afternoon conference featuring keynote speakers, panels, and discussions on the past and future of the Peace  Corps (free to all) and an evening reception with food, drink, and entertainment to celebrate our collective experiences in the Peace Corps (free for NorCal members; guests can buy a ticket for a small fee)

The program will also include:

  • Stories and/or vignettes that highlight the Peace Corps experiences of 2–3 of their members.
  • An exhibit of member photos.
  • An installation displaying members’ Peace Corps journals/diaries.

If you live in northern California and you would like to participate in the planning and production of the event, contact Meera Chary (treasurer[at]norcalpca.org).
