A different perspective

I co-taught with Ray Mcdermott, an anthropologist, when I was at Teachers College. We were both very interested in observation, playing with our teaching and how what we did sometimes inadvertently was harmful to our students. But his analysis provided a broader perspective than mine did so we complimented each other. He subsequently moved to Stanford. I had been reading some of the articles we used in our courses and wondered what he was writing now. I was thrilled to find that the Stanford University School of Education makes available articles by faculty members!

I would urge you to go to the Stanford University School of Education website and click on any of of the 12 items that are posted there by Ray McDermott. Any one you read will provide you with a new perspective, a distinctive insight as well as some different ways of looking at what we do.
