Thanks to fellow RPCV Amy Panikowski for making me aware of Photographers Without Borders. Panikowski who is a doctoral candidate and fellow at University of Florida and formerly the Peace Corps Representative there, posted on her facebook page a call for support of one of the volunteers she recruited, Caitlin Healy, for a photo project with the the agency.
Panikowski’s post reads : “As you know, I am truly proud of each and every one of my PC applicants. I have always enjoyed watching them do amazing things. Today, I learn that one of my girls, Caitlin Healy, has accepted a Photographers Without Borders assignment in Uganda! She will leave in January. If you are in a position to assist her with raising funds for airfare, visa, etc, I promise you, it will be a wonderful investment. She does not disappoint! Caitlin, I’m so proud of you and all of your incredible work! You are amazing and I can’t wait to see your work when you get to Uganda! It’s such an amazing country!”

The link takes you to a page that tells you more about the project.
As a result of finding out about Photographers Without Borders, I have applied for a project. I like the model of this organization and that it matches photographers and videographers with NGOs. Click here for more information about Photographers Without Borders.
Hopefully soon I’ll be accepted for a project.
