FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LONG AGO AND FAR AWAY

By John Coyne

long-ago-lgDisplaying the storytelling skill that has made him a seven-time bestselling author, John Coyne delivers a suspenseful, haunting and tender story about star-crossed lovers who first meet in their twenties and four decades later are reunited. The novel takes place on three continents, and involves the lives of four main characters. The plot pivots around the tragic death in 1973 of a young woman in Ethiopia. The outcome of a trial changes the lives of the four young people, leaving unresolved the question of whether it was an accident or murder.

Long Ago and Far Away opens in Westchester, New York, in 2008, and through a series of flashbacks that take place in Ethiopia, Spain, New York, Washington, and elsewhere, it tells the story of Parker Bishop and Irish McCann, lovers driven apart by the death of their friend and the blame they cast on each other and themselves. Their careers, marriages, families, divorces, and changes in fortune are dramatized in the novel. The main plot focuses on the present day, when the lovers circle back to find each other, and then set out to confront the man who knows the truth about what happened to their friend.

Accident or Murder? Even four decades later, the answer matters.
