I will draw on several sources for “Once in Afghanistan.” The first - the times, adventures, and misadventures of Afghanistan Group 15 smallpox vaccinators. A documentary film of the same name that I produced, co-directed and co-edited captured some of them, but there wasn’t time or space for many others. The story of the making of this Peace Corps documentary from passing thought to premiere is another source. And finally, being part of the movie has put me in touch with many interesting people and their stories as well.
