I read an article the other day that clearly explained why the American economy works. The hardest job in making clothes for women is to get the right fit and the right fit starts with proper sizes. The problem is compounded by the fact that sizes vary from one manufacturer to another. I know, I ran a small company making clothes for young women in London.
The article related the story of how one company converted the infamous machines that take full body images of passengers at airports into a machine that measures the body and comes up with a list of the correct sizes for the person to use when buying clothes at all the major outlets. Imagine, the machine that everyone loves to hate has been converted into a very useful device.
This is why America has the most successful economy in history. The creativity and imagination used by this company to turn a lemon into lemonade is what characterizes our business and economy that in turn have produced the highest standard of living for the third most populous country in the world.
