Thank God President Obama has restored good relations with the world of Islam and regained lost friendships. Moreover he has knocked out Al Queda by killing Benny Laden. What’s that you say, Muslim crowds have burned down our consulate in Bengazi and killed the American Ambassador? And we have withdrawn our staffs at our embassies in Sudan and Tunisia. And crowds are threatening to destroy our missions in Pakistan, Egypt, Libya and more. And the Afghan troops we have trained are killing their American trainers and comrades in arms. And the Taliban is set to return to power in Afghanistan. And Al Queda is in the vanguard in all this. Why do I keep seeing images of “W” standing on an aircraft carrier with a huge banner proclaiming “Mission Accomplished.?”
About Your Money: In the New Economy
The financial crisis of 2008 has ushered in a new facet of the “New Economy.” Whatever you say about the origins and course of this financial crisis, this new dramatic development will be a major influence in our economic future. I will discuss the financial crisis and where it has led us. I will then look at how this “New Economy” will affect your job prospects, investment strategies, retirement plans, personal finance. We are in an entirely new phase of our economic progress reinforced by a new administration coming into office. It will be exciting to some and of concern to others. But we all must understand it and use it to our advantage. — Leo Cecchini (Ethiopia 1962–64)
