Day 8 of my Boycott of TSA and the Airlines

The Week in Review

I may be missing my vacation, but I’m certainly not bored.  The range of emotion is vast–sad that my friends are so focused on the way I’ve chosen to take action that they mostly don’t support me.  Curious why that is their reaction.  Happy and surprised to have gotten some great feedback in unlikely places.  Disappointed that it hasn’t been more. Determined anyway as still embroiled in self-righteousness.  Suspicious because our mailbox has been smashed.

Late at night when I’m alone, afraid.  (And that’s just how “they” would have it.)  Shocked and horrified by the bizarre worlds I’m traveling through online, some of it so far out there I can’t possibly count it inside possibility or post it here.

Overwhelmed, indignant, horrified, disgusted.  Thankful for now.  Returning each time to the potential.  Refusing to rest in the depressing parts, but not avoiding them either.

Thrilled, because it’s finally raining after weeks!

But back to the point.  Who are the They? That’s the question, right?  No! We can’t get distracted by the trees. The question is much more simple than that.  The question is:  Are you feeling any safer now, knowing there’s a million people on the “Terrorist” Watch List.  Including plenty of innocent people, like myself, and this young woman and advocate of Ron Paul:

My vocabulary is expanding as I find and research brand new phrases, like

Fusion Centers” and “Transition Towns” and NDAA.

Marc Sageman, a psychiatrist and former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officer, said that al-Qaeda is now just a “loose label for a movement that seems to target the West”. “There is no umbrella organisation. We like to create a mythical entity called [al-Qaeda] in our minds, but that is not the reality we are dealing with.”[36]

There’s a lawsuit in progress, but is that going to be enough? If al-Qaeda equals Terrorist and terrorist equals whatever the government tells us it means, and both Bush and Obama are inserting laws at their own discretion, is this making us safe?

Who has access to the list?

Considering nothing is private anymore, we must assume the REAL terrorists have that list, so they know exactly who our government is watching, and how, so they know who it’s not watching, and how.

I realize like so many others I wanted to bury my head in the sand, but when I did, I heard the echo of power abuse, hypocrisy, secrecy and yes, maybe even conspiracy.  In my head screamed:  I don’t know what to do but I must do something!  This is just not right.  These are all not just crazy uncles in the basement, there are some very intelligent people saying some very disturbing things.

I’ll stick here to the “lighter” side, after all it is Friday.

A video of a young boy required to take his shirt off and get frisked by a TSA agent.

I found out this boycotting TSA thing has already been done by Jesse Ventura!  Freedom makes surprising bedfellows.

Ron Paul on Bill Maher “Why do they hate us?!”  Don’t ask that question.  Verboten!

I didn’t want this to turn into a campaign initiative for Ron Paul, but his name is everywhere.  Is it just his way of campaigning?  Another conspiracy of sorts?!  Maybe, who knows, but if so you must admit it’s very clever.

Or is it because he’s the only vocal politician admitting right now there’s something rotting in our house!  The powers that be call his ideas extreme and ludicrous.

I believe that’s exactly what we need in our House, because we need fumigating fast.  Ludicrous action at this point might actually make us feel safer.  Because when you are a victim, you can’t feel safe and we are all now being victimized by our government and they feel that’s their right.

The constitution and Bill of Rights might not be perfect, but it’s all we had.

For some politics with a dose of entertainment value:

(Not exactly my taste, but impressed by the courage and standing for Imperfect Action.)

Follow this blog for the next 16 days and really consider if all this Terrorist Watching is making you feel any safer.
