I will be writing about health care issues — what the current status is of the health reform legislation in Congress, what is ultimately passed, what it means for all of us, what still needs to be done to improve our health care system. There is no question in my mind that what Congress will pass will only be the beginning of a decades-long effort to strengthen and improve how we pay for and deliver health care in this country. I worked on the Clinton health reform effort and have helped to blog on health reform for the Obama campaign, and I believe that we are embarked on a very exciting period of change. I will also comment on new treatments for various diseases and how ordinary folks can interpret the evidence of whether these treatments work or not. — Linda Bergthold
