I want to share with you a couple of websites that you might find very helpful in your field work.

  • FAO/Participation is provided by the Food and Agricultural Organization whose objective is to bring together, under a virtual roof, all who are interested in sustainable rural livelihoods and food security.  This website is a place for studying and discussing participation in development and also includes a virtual library, field tools and lessons learned.  This site is available in English, French and Spanish.
  • Heifer International’s mission is to provide international aid and sustainability, end hunger and care for the earth.  Their website includes education and learning centers which could provide valuable information for field work.  Heifer International has authored many papers containing valuable information for peace corps volunteers in the field.

Other resources for the Agriculture Sector are available through ICE at your local IRC.  Feel free to comment on this blog regarding the usefulness of the websites or let me know of other resources that you have found useful.

Peace, development and environmental protection are interdependent and indivisible.
