Brian Wyllie was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Marataizes, Brasil from 1969 to 1971. Brian’s Peace Corps group worked with fishermen to establish fishing cooperatives along the coast of Brasil and teaching them how to market the products of their labors. When Brian’s group arrive in Brasil the fishermen were using mostly sail boats; by the end of the two years they were using motorized boats and their incomes and lifestyles had been greatly improved.
