With a fond nod to the famous Peace Corps book locker of the early years of the agency, Peace Corps Worldwide will feature for-purchase books written by members of the Peace Corps community on The Book Locker. Peace Corps authors may promote up to 3 of their books at any one time by becoming members of The Book Locker. Membership will be limited, but not the genre. Novels or non-fiction, books of poetry, photography, essays, self-help, about or not about the Peace Corps, self-published, commercial publisher or academic presses.
Authors should provide:
- A digital photo of the book jacket if one does not appear at Amazon.com
- A digital photo of the author.
- The author’s name, Peace Corps years and country.
- A biographical statement of 75–100 words about the author that includes what he/she did as a PCV, in what community he/she served, and what he/she is currently doing
- Publishing details of the book: publisher, date of publication, number of pages, cost, ISBN
- A narrative description of the book of approximately 250 words
- A fee of $50.00 for a one-year membership.
- The book(s) will be linked to Amazon.com for purchase. (If the book is not available from Amazon, then it will be linked to the publisher’s site, or the author for purchase.
With membership authors will receive a gift from Peace Corps Writers, a membership certification, and a special member’s-only on-line monthly newsletter focused on the publishing.
